As another year comes to a close, we look back on a period that has been both intense and rewarding. It has been a year filled with new launches, engaging projects, and—most importantly—close and constructive collaboration with our producer partners. Working alongside passionate wine producers and seeing their wines succeed in the Swedish market continues to be at the heart of what we do.

New Systembolaget Tenders Now Published

As always, towards the end of the year, Systembolaget publishes tenders for future launches—this time covering September and December 2026. These tenders are now available and can be found, as usual, on our website.

Important Changes in Tender Formulations

There are some notable developments in how Systembolaget is formulating its tenders.

Increasingly, tenders now include the requirement:“On the packaging as well as in the offer stated, the producer must be a property located in the offered origin.”

This effectively limits private label solutions—and in our view, this is a positive step. Too often, aspects such as heritage, origin, and producer identity are absent in volume-driven listings. This shift gives wine producers greater control over their brands and listings, rather than competing solely on price.

Another important addition is the growing presence of PCF (Product Carbon Footprint) requirements. This reflects Systembolaget’s long-term ambition to measure, compare, and ultimately reduce the climate impact of its assortment. PCF enables fairer comparisons within segments and signals a clear direction for future tenders—one that producers should start preparing for now.
